Hello! Today, I am not going to write about software developer fitness and coding, instead. I want to share my fitness regiment. Am I fit? I doubt it! I just try to be by doing a few things:
The Shake Weight Craze
If you have not heard of the shake weight don’t worry, I am going to show you right now. Here is a photo and please don’t jump into conclusions. It is pure exercise:
Once in a while, I try using the shake weight to burn some calories. I am not endorsing it or anything but it works to an extent (for me of course). It helps tighten the muscles in your arms and I like using it to run up some sweat especially if I cannot get out of the house for some reasons. Combining it with couch push-ups can rip you. Fitness can be achieved through many ways for sure.
Playing Tennis Every Weekend
After Volley Ball, Tennis is my second favorite sport. I never really got a chance to play it until recently when I decided to do something after sitting in front of my computer for the best part of the day. Fortunately, our city has a local tennis court that anyone can use.
Tennis is obviously a two-person sport. The best way to enjoy it perhaps is by playing with family or friends. The goal is always to have fun and burn some calories. Let us be honest here – some of us don’t have very comfortable chairs and sitting down for hours can be harmful down the road. So, two hours of tennis is good enough I think.
The Ultimate : Riding My Bike
First, I started with running several evenings a week and then I realized that I couldn’t get excited enough to keep doing it. So, instead of sitting on the couch, I bought a bike. I can’t stop riding it around especially since I bought an helmet for safety. Here it is today when I was trying to climb a hill – that hill was too steep so I had to push it – lol!
Sometimes I wish I had a road bike instead of a mountain bike but since I am not really racing anyone or going long distances, I have chosen to keep this one until its time runs out.
To say the least, I get a lot done with this bike and still save the environment compared to driving around. After driving for several years, I can see why people should actually try to use alternative means of transportation.
The fact is, exercising is not easy and most of us would agree with that statement. That being said however, everyone is responsible for his or her health. We all have choices: exercise now and live long enough to write more code or forget about exercising and be in really bad shapes. I don’t know about you but I would rather try my best now rather than wait until retirement (ahah).
That is all I want to share today. I hope you have a great Sunday and see you next time.
If you have comments or your own ideas about staying fit, please let me know. Thank you for stopping by. Please share this post with your friends if you like it and let us connect on Twitter and Facebook! Bye now!
